Dr Helena Gomes is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham. She has more than 10 years experience in environmental remediation and resource recovery from waste.
Dr Gomes worked as an Environmental Consultant and Project Manager and, from 2006 to 2011, she led the environmental and radiological monitoring programme of uranium abandoned mines in Portugal. She is an active researcher with over 40 peer-reviewed publications, more than 30 conference contributions including keynote presentations and five book chapters on resource recovery and circular economy topics.
